SHORTLIST OF BRITAIN’S BEST PROPERTY AND CONSTRUCTION TALENTS OFFICIALLY REVEALED

The teams behind the country’s most exciting building projects are in competition for the British Construction and Property Awards. The final shortlist has been unveiled ahead of the May 15 gala event in Manchester hosted by Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway in partnership with the Sunday Express.

Visionary developers, innovative contractors and trailblazing individuals have been nominated to receive the sought-after accolades. In the Residential Property Developer of the Year category, Step Places and Redwing are among the contenders, while Morgan Sindall, Sir Robert McAlpine, and Balfour Beatty battle it out for the coveted Construction Business of the Year award.

The likes of CERT Property, Salboy, and Legacie are in the running for Property Developer of the Year. With the industry under pressure to achieve new levels of sustainability and corporate responsibility, Legacie, G&G Joinery, and Legal & General Investment Management are hoping to win in the Outstanding CSR category. Fellow finalist RWinveshas won attention for its community engagement work.

Sara Cahill, from the British Construction and Property Awards, said: “The level of talent and innovation showcased in this year’s nominations is truly inspiring. The shortlisted companies and individuals exemplify the forward-thinking nature of our industry, and we are proud to celebrate those who are making a profound impact on shaping the future of construction and property in the UK.”

The Female Property Champion of the Year category recognises leading figures including Jennie Daly, Sally O’Brien, and Kat Hanna. Oli Banks, John Morley, and Daren Whitaker hope to take home the title of Male Property Champion of the Year.

The Innovator of the Year award will salute companies pushing the boundaries of technology and design in construction. Finalists include Scarborough Group International, Huyton Asphalt, and Shape Engineering.

Meanwhile, the Architecture Business of the Year category showcases the achievements of firms including Falconer Chester Hall, Brock Carmichael, and ShedKM. The Contractor of the Year category sees Mace Group, Kier Construction, and VINCI Building competing for the title.

The Best Property Lender category features the likes of ICG Longbow, Maslow Capital, and Shawbrook in the running for recognition.

A spokesperson for the Sunday Express said: “The British Construction and Property Awards honour the innovation, dedication, and commitment of those transforming our communities and our built environment. This year’s shortlist is a testament to the incredible diversity and talent within the sector, and we are thrilled to be part of celebrating these outstanding achievements.”

The judging panel is chaired by former construction minister Lord Harrington.

Former UK Construction Minister, Lord Richard Harrington, is Chair of the judging panel.
